Accessed 2011-02-25.〕 The population was 1,832 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a census-designated place (CDP); the community was not enumerated separately in the 2010 census.〔 Located between Loveland and Berthoud along U.S. Route 287, it was named for John F. Campion, who helped establish the sugar beet industry in northern Colorado in the late 19th century. ==Geography== Campion is located in the northern part of Colorado between Denver, CO and Cheyenne, WY at (40.348257, -105.089095). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of , of which was land and or .53 percent was water.
